The Philip Experiment will premiere at MidWest WeirdFest 2026

When we get paranormal phenomena in a seance - knocking sounds, the table levitating - is that because we have actually summoned a ghost, or because of the latent psychokinetic abilities of the participants causing the phenomena they expect to happen to happen?

In 1972, the Toronto Society for Psychical Research designed an experiment to answer that question - by summoning the "ghost" of someone who never existed.

In 2024, a new team of paranormal researchers set out to recreate their experiment.

The researchers disappeared, but their footage did not.

See the found footage film that Adrian Tofei, director of Be My Cat: A Film for Anne called ""super creative and creepy... so ominous... super powerful, absolutely brilliant...a great found footage film up there with some of the greatest ever made".
